Lease renewals are dealt with under the terms of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 which is a tricky piece of legislation that has recently been overhauled. Whether you are a landlord or a tenant you either need to know how the machinery works, or talk to someone who does. There are plenty of traps for the unwary.
