PRIME YIELDS FALL WHILST SECONDARY YIELDS RISE

ALLSOP COMMERCIAL AUCTION July 2010 Anecdotal evidence suggests that bank lending has become tighter again, which has resulted in fewer buyers in the room and hence our lowest success rate since July 2008. However with returns on cash still at low rates, well-let property does provide a good source of higher yielding income for the private investor. We therefore continue to believe that private investors will seek out good secure income producing investments. Furthermore secondary stock yields are likely to drift out further as dealers and more active investors demand higher returns. We continue to see a number of new private investors entering the market and the number of overseas investors buying at auction also continues to increase as a result of sterling weakness.
