Our contribution to charities both local and national is an important part of our ethos. The communities we work in as a firm of Chartered Surveyors cover a wide area. We deal with property in Colchester as well as throughout East Anglia and London including our advice to The Crown Estate on the management of its coastal portfolio in East Anglia and the River Thames. We choose charities that are important to our staff as well as our clients and partners.
This year we have chosen Mind. It has been the leading mental health charity in the UK for over 65 years providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Mind works to ensure nobody faces a mental health problem alone. The demand for their services is ever growing and they impact on millions of lives each year.
One of their achievements was realised in 2013 in the form of the Mental Health (Discrimination) Act 2013: After many years of campaigning, this Act removed the last significant forms of discrimination from law. It repeals legislation that prevented people with mental health problems from serving on a jury, being a Director of a company or serving as an MP.
Morley Riches & Ablewhite are very pleased to support Mind in 2016. More information on Mind and their work can be found at www.mind.org.uk
